PROGRAM MANAGER

TANIA BRAZ

Originally from Portugal, Tania moved to England to pursue a career in sports and leisure. She’s a qualified Swim England Level 2 Swimming Coach and has worked in 4 different countries. Tania has 10 years of experience in coaching young swimmers. She has also received the National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches in the UK and is a Royal Life Saving Society UK Lifeguard. Her other certifications include Pediatric Psychology and a REPS UK Level 2 Fitness Instructor. Tania aims to use her expertise to enrich her students’ journey throughout the Learn To Swim program.

MEET TANIA

PROGRAM PATHWAY

1.

LEARN TO SWIM
LEVEL 1

In these classes, students will mainly focus on front crawl and backstroke kick—independently without flotation aids and with the introduction to arm movement. They will get introduced to Breaststroke and Butterfly kick. They will also learn the basics for diving from a seating position from the side of the pool.

2.

LEARN TO SWIM
LEVEL 2

This level teaches swimmers to complete a front crawl and backstroke, using leg kick and arm pull for a distance of at least 12 meters. Our coaches will also introduce them to Breaststroke and Butterfly Arm Pull.

 

3.

LEARN TO SWIM
LEVEL 3

In this level, swimmers will learn to perform all 4 strokes correctly for a minimum distance of 25 meters. They will also learn how to tread water at the deep end of the pool and dive from a standing position.

The assessment is less than 30 minutes and involves going through a few basic moves to analyze your child’s level. After that, we’re ready to roll.

    PROGRESS TRACKING

    ASSESSMENT

    Before we start, we carefully assess each child’s specific skills, performance, and fitness in their chosen sport. This helps us know exactly where they belong.

    PROGRAMmING

    These programs are designed in advance for every level by experienced, ex-elite sports coaches. And you, as parents, can see what challenges are coming up in each week of term and which objectives your child will be working on.

    PROGRESS TRACKING

    We then track the development of their skills throughout the term, following which ones are improving—and more importantly, which ones aren’t. This honest and detailed approach helps them improve much more consistently, and perfect skills that last a lifetime.

    EVALUATION

    At the end of each term, we can give them clear targets to focus on, allowing you to help them hone some skills at home, or in 1-1 classes with our specialists. Eventually, when they’re ready, they progress to the next level—or are reallocated to the class that’s best for them.
